In April of 2012, when volunteer registration for 30-Hour Famine Countdown 2012 was opened, a friend/colleague introduced the event to me and invited me to join as a volunteer. I was in doubt at first, still considering it after a few days, until some other friends/colleagues of mine said they are going to register together and submitted my registration details to World Vision.

First time volunteering for 30-Hour Famine Countdown 2012, I was assigned to Logistics: Individual & Participants Registration: Outdoor Ushers group, which duty was to ensure the arrival, registration and entry into the stadium was in a smooth and orderly manner. I felt my experience of hunger and being in the outdoor heat for that few hours is incomparable with what the poor society are suffering every day, leading me to join in as a committee to organize the 30-Hour Famine Warriors DIY camp 2013 in Penang and continue volunteering for 30-Hour Famine Countdown 2013 and for the years to come, hoping to spread more awareness on the world’s hunger and poverty issues.

During lunch/dinner times, we often ask “where to eat?” or “what to eat?” on a daily basis, but to the poor, there’s only “anything to eat?”. Can we really close one’s eye to such a cruel reality? Just think about it for a while, I know I did, that’s why I’ve also signed up for the Child Sponsorship Program with World Vision in September 2013.

在4月2012年，饥饿30倒数活动的志工已开始接受报名时，我的朋友/同事介绍我这活动与邀请我加入成为志工。首先我还有疑心，考虑了好几天，直到一些其他朋友/同事说要一起报名，就把我的报名资料发送了给世界宣明会。

               

第一次当饥饿30倒数活动志工被派到总务组：自行禁食勇士以及饥饿勇士报到组：室外传达员小组，必须维持室外营员们的报到与进场持续。我觉得我体验那室外热量天气和饥饿的几个小时是无法比上那些贫穷社会痛苦的每一天，我就参人了委员来组织个槟城的饥饿30勇士DIY营2013， 还继续参与饥饿30倒数活动2013志工服务, 直到未来数年， 希望可传播这世上饥饿贫困的情况给更多人认识。

               

每当午/晚餐时，我门都问“那里吃？”或“吃什么？”，可是穷人只能问“有没得吃？”。在面对这些残酷的事实，我们真的能够视而不见吗? 你想想一阵，我已想过了，所以我在9月2013年参与了世界宣明会助养儿童计划。
