I get to know about 30-Hour Famine in year 2006. However, I’m not able to join as the date clash with my other activity. I started to join in 2007 with some of my Unimates. It was a full camp held in Stadium Putra. I joined as a camper for the very first time. It was a very special and unforgettable memories to me. I’ve forgotten how many campers but it was a very huge numbers of campers that time because we are not divided into DIY camp. It was a full 30 hours together in the stadium. We were divided into groups and played those games related to poverty and hunger. I still remember one of the games was to build a house by using newspaper and make it standalone. I still have the photo of it. It was very fun.

In 2008, I’ve graduated and started to work at Penang. I did not have a chance to join because I have no Annual Leave since I was newly joined the company. Thus I missed it in 2008. I started to know about volunteer in 30-hour famine for the countdown event in 2009 and I applied for it. Unfortunately they did not choose me to contribute and again, I miss 30-hour famine event in 2009.

I did not give up although I’ve missed for 2 years. In 2010, I applied again as volunteer for the main countdown. Finally, I get chosen as volunteer. Continuously 4 years of volunteering in 30-Hour Famine main countdown, actually is challenging as I need to travel from Penang to KL and back on the same day after 30 hours volunteering. However, it did not stop me from continue doing this because in my mind, the thing that keeps me going on is when I think of those children that needs help.

In year 2013, it was my first time as part of the committee together with my some of my friends organized DIY camp. Although we just have 2 months of preparation, in the situation of lack of money, campers, volunteers, we still manage to make it success. It is because we all have a same vision which is to help more children and spread the message to more people to know about it. I sincerely wish all unfortunate children will get helped and live happily. In our life, how many memorable things can we have? There is something you will have no chance to do it again, if you never do it now.

第一次接触到饥饿30 是在2006 年。虽然对它有所耳闻，却在面对时间不配合的情况下选择了放弃。终于在2007 年，把它推荐了给周遭的大学朋友。朋友在半推半就的情况下就一起参加了。那是一个完完全全30小时在putra室内体育馆举行的活动，是一个非常有意义且让我留下一个非常好的回忆的一个活动。我们在这30 个小时里一起玩游戏，一起感受饥饿，一起流着泪观看那些饥饿儿童的片段，一起感触感动及感慨。特别印象深刻的一个游戏是我们得使用旧报纸搭成可以自立的一间屋子。依稀记得大家手忙脚乱，却也合作无间的成功搭造成一间像样的房子。那是非常欢乐的时刻，画面清晰的烙印在我脑海里，同时我也把这一刻拍成照片，把笑容遗留给未来。

2008年，毕业了。刚来到槟城工作，是六月份。饥饿30 在那一年的八月举办。无法申请到年假的我只好放弃了参加。2009年，我知道了世界宣明会把饥饿三十变成了自办营模式，而且也从中得知他们需要志工的帮忙。我毫不犹豫的就申请了当志工。然而事与愿违，我的申请被驳回了。然而心情低落的我却从不言弃。皇天不负有心人，终于在2010年让我如愿于尝，我终于开始了我的志工之旅。

其实，在槟城5点上午出发直奔体育馆，再连续30小时的培训+帮忙，在完成后又得马上赶回槟城，凌晨到达隔天上班，是一件非常累人的事。连续4年的饥饿30志工经验，随着参与的人年龄愈来愈年轻，身边的朋友一个接一个放弃了，然而我却坚持，我想一直做下去。

2013年，是我第一次与朋友一起举办自办营。我们只有短短两个月的筹备时间，从面对资金不足，志工不足，团员不足的情况下，我们仍然坚持举办，为的就是想要把这一项活动推广给更多的人知道。我由衷希望那些需要被帮助的小孩可以活的更久更快乐。人之一生，能有多少事值得反复咀嚼？又有多少事值得驻足回望？有些事你现在不做，或许这辈子都没有机会再做。
